We have a problem with something eating the caterpillars. We collected and incubated 10 this year to successfully eclose. Last year we had none. The year before we had several that must have come in egg form on milkweed we purchased. We have planted quite a bit of pollinator-friendly plants. They seem to like sunflowers and Tithonia a lot.
Hopefully, we’ll have many more next year.
Backyardbutterflies.com was a huge local help.
