Both are still in chrysalis formation, as of 11/30/2021 (attatched photo taken 11/30). #1 Appears healthy. Took 48-72 hours to chrysallize initially, once caterpillar had hung upside down in 'J' formation. Chrysalis spot is under a bromelaid leaf on front, east facing covered patio. Good, morning sunshine.
#2 Appears healthy. Unknown timeline- chrysalis was discovered under eavesment while hanging lights 4-6 days after 1st one. Located near east facing patio.
*There are milkweed plants growing in the area, planted specifically to attract all monarch stages.
*Weather has been cooler- avg daytime temps 60-65°, nighttime temps 40-50°.
*4-6 monarch caterpillars remain on milkweed plants.
