I was trimming down my milkweed as suggested to do here in FL, and found this cutie. Last year I didn't trim and there were loads of caterpillars, but not enough for them to eat so they disappeared overnight. Each year I still see Monarchs every day in the winters. It surprised me because I always thought they migrated in total
