Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 12/02/2021

Number: 2

I had two monarchs emerge from their chrysalises today. A female late this afternoon and a male emerged less than an hour ago. They are both currently on the same plant drying their wings. I can't get a clear picture of the male's two identifying black spots on his wings, but I did see them when he opened his wings quickly. I also have 7 more chrysalises hanging in various places around my yard. The last caterpillar just formed his chrysalis yesterday. They were not raised inside. My last batch emerged last month so I cut back all my milkweed for winter, but it hasn't really been cold here yet so as soon as the leaves started to grow back I noticed more eggs.
