Walked out back door at 12:56 and spotted monarch flying around our back yard. We still have milkweed plants, but they have no flowers. The butterfly spent at least 20 minutes in and around our yard with multiple landings on the milkweeds. It did not appear to be laying eggs. The wings did not appear to be tattered but the overall colors were "washed out" with a grayish tint.
