I was clearing out old milkweed plants and a two inch monarch larva appeared. I placed a cutting of asclepias tuberosa that the larva was on amoungstd my asclepias fascicularis plants. I was going to cut those back next and I'm very glad I did not do so. We will move the larva into a butterfly cage tomorrow. We would love to know how likely it is for a larva to stay alive this time of year?
