For the last three years I have been raising Monarchs in my garden. I have released 475 adults. As you can see from the attached log, they don't migrate. My survival rate from egg to butterfly is about 40-50%. I have 7 cages for the larger caterpillars and chrysalis, and 10 containers for eggs and hatched cats. Also, about 20 milkweed plants that are constantly being replaced. It requires one hour per day to feed and clean. I sanitize everything between broods, but disease is still the killer.
