Today I was amazed at seeing a group of monarch butterflies on a trail on the left side of a man made hill named Celery Fields in Sarasota, FL. There were approximately six adult monarch butterflies and there were two albino or totally white butterflies flying within this group. The white butterflies were approximately half the size of the adult monarch butterflies. I just became aware of your migration project today as I looked up the monarch butterflies on the internet this evening to try to understand how it is that I saw this beautiful group this time of year. I di frequent celery fields for walks and will continue to be on the look out for monarch butterflies in support of your conservation efforts. The time of day was approximately 2:00pm EST today, Wednesday, December 29, 2021. I will document with videos and photos on future sightings!! Thank you for this great conservation project. I hope that my contributions to your project will help the conservation of monarchs!!
