Cocoon was discovered December 2, 2021. I have been checking it everyday. On January 9, 2022 the cocoon changed colors to dark grey signifying the monarch butterfly is preparing to leave.

Planted 4 butterfly weed plants in the summer. Observed 11 caterpillars feeding on the plants.
