I was surprised to see 3 fresh-looking Monarchs today feeding on a blooming Blue Mistflower bush in downtown Austin. The Mistflower was in a protected corner of the Central Public Library grounds and survived the overnight freezes we had on Jan. 2 and 3. There is not much in bloom in Austin right now due to those freezes.
