I grow tropical milkweed (Asclepias curassavica) and butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) in my home garden. I had a lot of Monarch activity all summer. I have been surprised to see Monarch cats on my plants for the past couple of weeks. Although a little worse for the wear, I still have blooms on both species though the cats are only on the tropical variety. We had a cold front come through overnight so I do not expect the current crop of cats to survive.
