We observed our first Robins of 2022 today (January 20th). The pair visited one of the ornamental pear trees in our front yard at about 4:30 PM. This was quite surprising given that the ground is still covered with snow from the storm earlier this week and our first sighting last year wasn't until the end of February. Looking ahead, low temperature over the next 48 hours are expected to drop to single digits, maybe even sub-zero.
At the time the sky was mostly clear with an 11 mph wind blowing from the northwest. Other outside weather conditions were:
