We have been observing monarch caterpillars both before and since the winter storm this past weekend in the I’On Butterfly Garden. Before the storm several large caterpillars were collected and placed in butterfly cages. Several have pupated. Today after 25 degree temperatures outdoors, 6 caterpillars were found on milkweed that were still alive.
