I wasn't sure where to file this, but I've had a yellow-bellied sapsucker in my backyard for the last couple of weeks. She showed up looking very ragged, but has been feasting at the suet with peanuts and is now looking much better. She's taken to chasing off every other bird that comes near her maple. I've never seen a sapsucker in winter in western NY, although I may just be ignorant of whether they overwinter or not. I think she may be a juvenile---
