A very large flock moved through today. Hundreds of birds on the ground, in the trees, flying in clusters. The woods were a chorus of robin chatter. Amazing. Disappeared after about 5 hours. Just a few local winter residents remain. Reminded me of a Hitchcock scene. Thrilling.
