Continuation of 2nd season of monitoring at this Monarch over-wintering site.
This is the 12th report this season for this location.

I was joined by Reagan Montalvo and Anna Yellin, Wildlife Resources Division, Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
My previous counts of the Monarchs and Queens were "conservative estimates".
With all three of us present, we were able to get a more accurate count of the Monarchs and Queens present in the large field.
A good time was had by all.

Some of the Monarchs looked worn and some looked fresh. I am including a photo of a worn individual here. Other PHOTOS, comments, weather, counts and other species in my NABA Sighting for February 10, 2022 at this link:
