Robins have been using my bamboo groves (mostly Phyllostachys aueosulcata, bissetti & Nuda)
as winter night roost.
A large flock has descended into my yard around dusk and departed around dawn all winter long. Numbers started in the hundreds, maybe topping out at 5-700?
A few nesting pairs and over wintering individuals is normal here, but this is first time a large flock of Robins has used my yard.
They seem to be thinning in number a bit, but still quite a few. Now some flocks of blackbird/grackles seem to be moving though and using the bamboo to night roost.
