This male Robin arrived yeterday to a foot of snow covering all ground surfaces. The crabapple trees in my yard are bare and there was no food for the Robin. Near the heated bird waterer I brushed away snow from the patio table and placed a metal cookie sheet filled with blueberries, dried mealworms and a peanut suet cake. I brought the pan in last night so critters wouldn't take all the food. Shortly before sunrise this morning the Robin was patiently waiting for me to bring his food tray perched on a nearby patio chair. Starlings have taken over the tray throughout the day today so I dumped a small pile of the food on the ground under his chair where he has returned to eat several times.
