Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 02/20/2022

Number: 10

Quite surprisingly at Google today we discovered that several of the many eggs we reported 3 weeks ago on the side of a secluded parking area had hatched. The milkweed, previously small and shriveled had burst out with new growth due to unusual warm temperatures. Though I counted 10 tiny caterpillars there were still many unhatched eggs on these small plants. Of the dozen plants we observed on this large block these were the only with larvae.
