Robin (WAVE seen)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/04/2022

Number: 7

Robins have been showing up in small flocks and waves usually in the morning between 30min and 2 Hours after sunrise. In the evening, they pass through within 15min before sunset.

This evening, the group that usually passes thru (They tend to come and join the large flock of European Starlings in this area) split up and started seemingly exploring potential territories. Some of them remained in groups of no more than 3.

Usually within the first week of March I to see waves, and this year is no exception. I expect to hear some territorial singing in the next couple of days. Attached is a picture of the last time I saw groups of Robins here in the fall. This was taken in November of 2021. They are still acting like they do in the fall, staying high up in the trees and rarely coming toward the ground.
