Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 03/10/2022

Number: 1

10 March 2022, Number of Monarchs: 01
Continuation of 2nd season of monitoring at this Monarch overwintering site - 20th report this 2021-2022 cold season at this location.

Only one Monarch and no Queens seen today after they over-wintered here (please see previous reports-there were 50 or more individuals earlier this winter). Today's lone Monarch flew by me at the overwintering site and was not relocated for a photo.

It has been a warm and early spring. There are many sources of nectar currently available throughout the region so the butterflies easily could be scattered over a wide area.
