Males arrived at the end of last month. Started territory around March 5th.
I leave food out for them usually in the early spring and fall. I had one male showing up for food almost instantly this yeae.
I expected to see him with a female a couple weeks later (which is the normal). This year, it was only days later. They come and eat together. He usually backs off while the female eats and finishes when she is done. This is standard behavior from what I’ve seen. Another pair did the same thing last year.
Today they were back, and I noticed another male was here. The two males began arguing over this territory.
The female looks like she’s ready to begin nest building if she has not already. Been very busy. Only see her once or twice a day. The male usually comes for the food alone during nest building. Once they have one going, they tend to take turns coming for food, one at a time.
