Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/20/2022

Number: 4

This photo shows the unusual places a Monarch caterpillar will choose to hang and form its chrysalis. There are 2 hanging off of a mermaid statue, 1 hangs off a Jatropha branch in the background, and a 4th caterpillar not in this photo formed its chrysalis hanging from the bottom of a small flag, despite it flapping in the breeze! Unfortunately, 2 days after I found it, the chrysalis disappeared and was probably eaten by a bird.
