Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/27/2022

Number: 19

At around 11am I went out and observed multiple female monarchs looking for milkweed & laying eggs. It was 70 degrees F, sunny, with wind light from the SW and 62% humidity. Going out again an hour later, I observed at least 9 individual monarchs. They were flying about, looking for milkweed, laying eggs (finding little sprouts), and nectaring from wildflowers.

In the afternoon I took a trip to Conroe, which is 21 miles to our east. Along that route I saw 10+ monarchs flying near busy traffic & in ditches with wildflowers.

This is one of the wonderful females taking a quick nectar break in between looking for milkweed.
