This is our 26th report in the continuation of the second (2nd) season of surveying/monitoring at this Monarch overwintering site during the 2021-2022 season (12/06/21-03/28/22). The previous reports have additional information on plants, winter temperatures, links to photos of the site, etc.

We had a high count of 50 Monarchs at this site on 02/10/22 (See https://journeynorth.org/sightings/query_result.html?record_id=1526566071 )

The Monarchs observed today (03/28/2022) were seen over a relatively wide area of the WMA. Two (2) Monarchs were observed at the Mud Creek Road entrance, at least one (1) Monarch was observed at the specific overwintering site within the WMA (Field with Raphanus raphanistrum, 31.47028349867849, -84.37638370986865), and at least two (2) Monarchs were observed further west within the WMA.

Straight-line distance to Atlantic Coast: 178 miles.
Straight-line distance to Gulf Coast: 98 miles.
