This is a follow-up photo to my Monarch Adult Sighted report for today 03/27/2022. I saw at least 9 individual monarchs at midday. They were flying, nectaring, looking for milkweed, and egg-laying (because there is now more emerged milkweed for them). It has been slow this year, but the shoots of Asclepias viridis are finally emerging in good numbers. This is one of the diligent females finding a tiny milkweed sprout to lay her eggs on.
