Sightings report image

Date: 03/30/2022

Number: 1

Asclepias asperula, pic is one of a few quickly snapped, antelope horn milkweed plants in droughty Central Texas. Some are already putting on tiny heads.
Had to walk the bar ditch, but after finding a few, I knew others had to be there also. Stopped after locating 4. but Also found matalea biflora, milkweed vine. Earliest I’ve ever been able to SEE it.
Sadly, this stretch of country road is being subdivided, more and more the ditches and former pastureland is being regularly mown.
