Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 03/29/2022

Number: 1

Much to my surprise, a rag-tag Monarch was flitting about the hen-bits and dandelions along with a bunch of black swallowtails.
The monarch flew around the area where the blue mist flowers in the fall, then cruised over and landed on hen bit after hen bit. My meager zizotes patch is just emerging and it did not approach that location.
This was mid-afternoon. Was not able to get a photo because I was too excited and followed it around to see where it was stopping. Within 20 minutes of the sighting, the 30 mph west winds began. I lost track of the Monarch after that. Prayerfully, it was swept toward another safe haven.
