We counted 55 monarchs at Rick Evans Grandview Prairie on Saturday. We spent about two hours driving the roads through the area. Most of them were flying - several seemed to be females searching for milkweed. There is very little milkweed and very few flowers to provide nectar. We did find one female laying eggs on some tiny A. viridris.
