Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 03/30/2022

Number: 12

I first went out to the pastures at 11am. It was 60 degrees F, cloudy with the sun coming through, a light wind from the NW, with 90% humidity. It had been raining this morning & was beautifully fresh. I saw a male monarch nectaring from a yellow thistle & followed a female monarch seeking milkweed. This is her photo as she finds a tender milkweed to lay her eggs on.

Around 1pm, I was outside again and observed 12+ individual monarchs. It was sunny and 68 degrees F. There was a sweet, balmy breeze on which the monarchs sailed around on. The females were busily looking for milkweed and laying eggs. The males at times chased them, but it didn't seem too serious.
