This evening (at 8:44 pm EST) I spot the first male robin of the season perched in our small crab apple tree in our backyard. I am thrilled as I haven't seen a robin in our backyard since January (the latter was most likely a permanent winter resident). A short while later (at 9:03 pm) I hear him singing his true song nearby. Such music to my ears! I am so happy to welcome him back to Northern Ontario. We still have a lot of snow on the ground as we had record breaking snow this winter, but the snow is melting fast.
