We are staying in an RV park in central Tennessee. We're at a 1900-foot elevation, and many of our trees have just started to get their leaves. Only very tiny wildflowers are blooming, so there's no natural hummingbird food available.
On the afternoon of 4/17, I put out a hummingbird feeder after another park resident said they had some activity at their feeder. Within 2-3 hours, we had a male ruby-throated hummingbird. He visited the feeder often that day and has been coming ever since.
Now I have a second ruby-throat male, as I saw an airborne battle two days ago. I'm looking for the females to arrive shortly.
Since selling our house 2+ years ago, this is the first time I have been able to see hummingbirds again. So glad they're back in my life!
