First Black-chinned Hummingbird (a female) arrived at the feeder only to find a female Ladder-backed Woodpecker using it and flew off. A (the) male followed on 04/18/2022.
April 17 has been the "traditional" date for first hummingbirds here and at all the places I lived in Santa Fe County, NM since ~ 1980. (Male Scott's Orioles usually arrive at the hummer feeder on the same date in that county.)
