I have had feeders out sunce March, just in case a hummingbird wandered through. No sugn of one. However, i work....and feeders have become empty! On Thursday April 21st i thought i heard the buzz of a hummingbird to my left outsude my screened pirch. Then a few minutes later i heard "chit chit chit" very near. I looked up and a green bullet was cruising north in my yard at 5 ft above the ground. He had just left a feeder on a pole next to the porch. It FINALLY feels like spring here in southeast Kansas, so i cleaned and refilled all the feeders and watched. By evening i was seeing two at the same time at separate feeders! Welcome home! Earliest i have SEEN a hummingbird in 3 years! This used to be the norm. Earth Day hummingbirds! Happy Earth Day Friday everyone! So happy my little jewels are back!!!!
