First Monarch (Female) sighted today. We have a Swamp milkweed plant only four or five inches tall coming up from last years roots. She laid eggs on it. Our native Asclepias plants only about 1 or 2 inches tall. Hope this swamp milkweed grows quickly to sustain caterpillars. Last year our first sighting of a Monarch was June 3 so today's early sighting a real treat for us.
