At about 5:00 pm saw an old, withered Monarch flying around my milkweed patch, with most of the plants only about 2-3 inches tall. Tried but missed getting picture, but did discover at least 11 eggs! This is by far the earliest I've ever witnessed my first Monarch of the season, and definitely the earliest eggs by far! (usually my first visit is around July 4).
