Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/22/2022

Number: 1

I was very surprised to see a monarch so soon. Last week it snowed TWICE here. The milkweed is just poking out of the ground. Dandelions and violets are in bloom but little else. The butterfly was pale and seemed to have some familiarity with my home, flying right to the spots where my Mexican sunflower were last year. They were definitely their favorite. I raised and released about 400 monarchs last summer.
