My report from 2/22 definitely was of a resident male Because since yesterday I’ve observed him defending both feeders from at least 1 other at a time who’d be able to sneak into the one he doesn’t drink from But since I’ve gotten home this afternoon myself and others have just seen 1 male all day He’s behaving comfortably like he knows us and our pets But the only battles so far have been seen from a distance through the window since newcomers and visitors are more skittish
Last year 1 early adult male and 1 female dominated my observable space At least 4 new juveniles or were added by the end of the season 2 baby boys showed me their throat patch before leaving So I’m excited to keep count and get to know them, in this my second full year here
Thanks for the opportunity and for all of the hard work you are doing!!
