Reared Eastern Black Swallowtail emerged today!
A tough (very) little guy, he hung as a chrysalis in August of 2021 -- Aren't the wild children of the world amazing ? I grow fennel and dill; this friend was brought indoors to keep him from being parasitized. He overwintered in a large container in our unheated shed. He's got 7 siblings waiting their turn...
