Sightings report image

Date: 04/25/2022

Number: 60

Sixty plus (60 +) monarch larvae counted on milkweed stock plants. Milkweed plants (containers) are relocated to protected area (house porch). Once a plant is defoliated, the remaining larvae are relocated to foliated milkweed plants. Once defoliated, the plant is cleaned (soap / water / alcohol) and placed in plant nursery to encourage leaf growth. This process has resulted in miminal spore / disease problems in last two years.
