Saw a mature bald eagle flying over head at the Virginia State Arboretum. There were other large birds flying in the same general area but too far away for me to get a good look at them. I wouldn't recognize a young bald eagle without white markings.
I work on a horse farm one evening a week, nearby in Berryville. Eagles were spotted by others on that property last year. I'm hoping to get my chance to see them there this summer.
