First ruby throated hummer of the spring. Adult male RTHB made quick stop at nectar feeder at 4:15 p.m. This is 5 days later than 2021. But spring has been cooler than average. Between 7:50 and 8:30 the hummer took in nectar from 3 different feeders. He really liked a disc-shaped oriole feeder we first put up last summer. He seemed to appreciate the fresh nectar. First sighting of the season is always so exciting! It seems this is a male hummer that hangs out locally. He knew where the feeders were! The season is back on!
