Around 6 p.m. today we spotted a Scarlet Tanager (male) in one of the big fir trees out back. I cannot ever remember in the last 18 years we have lived here that we have spotted such variety of birds around our property. We have 10 very tall fir trees abutting our property and the birds are coming and going all day long.
