Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 05/12/2022

Number: 1

Ruby-throated hummingbirds are regular feeders and nesters in my garden during late spring, summer, and early fall. We've had three hot days, my Jacob's Ladder is blooming, and I placed several hummingbird-friendly hanging plants outside in the last two days. I was working at the table so I didn't see her take nectar. But she flew up to the window as if to announce her return, then flew up and over the roof to the front yard.
