Monarch Waystation #271 reports one faded adult monarch nectaring at Mock Verbena flowers in the back bed, mid-morning, seen when I glanced out the back patio glass doors. The monarch then flew to the taller Swamp Milkweed stems near the back bed HVAC unit, did a "touch and go" on the top leaves, then flew off northwesterly towards the edge of the building and out of sight. It was not visible long, too far away for a photo and the shade + cloudiness made it impossible for me to establish its gender.
