Oriole (1st Baltimore)
Sightings report image

Date: 05/08/2022

Number: 30

The Baltimores arrived the day after the ones arrived at my son's in MN on 5/7/22. This was unusual. In the past they came here a week later. Same with the Hummingbirds. There were a few Orchard females and Baltimores on the 9th. and 10th. Still only one male Hummer. Grosbeak pairs.

Then on the evening of the 13th we had the big storm. On the 14th there were orioles all over the place. Most of them were Orchard Orioles and were they hungry! No doubt in my mind that these birds tangle with that storm! They are going through jelly like crazy. There is nothing blooming up here except the few tulips. Trees have leaves but crabapples are not blooming.
