Sightings report image

Date: 05/15/2022

Number: 1

Another adult male rubythroat, (#16) just popped down 7:40 a.m.
Went to inground purple Gurantica that has grown 6 feet. He then went to wipe his beak on a desert Willow tree twig adjacent to feeder on right side of photo. Camouflaudged in. Took off after.

Since we are in a heat wave, besides Gurantica; potted salvias'Amigo, Blue Swede shoes, purple Skyscraper, Rokin deep purple. Loves & Wishes salvias, purple porterweed, coral porterweed are all going crazy tall as these plants like heat. Mexican honeysuckle, Rockin fushia doesn't like the heat stooped bloombing, wilted.

Desert Willow
is overabundant with blossoms too. Hamelia is barely coming back from hard again freeze of last winter. Purple Salvias should help out late travelers.

Still no rubythroat, Rufous females yet! No rain for over 2 weeks.
