At least four RHTBs observed at feeder, two male and two females, rarely any two feeding together.
The hummers seem to be spending little time overall at the feeder, and consumption has averaged approximately 20 ml per day the past three days. Observed mating dance flights in the area yesterday May 15th and also on the 13th, so they wasted little time after arrival.
Pictured are two females early evening; the one on the right with clear complexion white fluffy front and very blue spruce colored back took long drinks and perched unmolested comfortably for over five minutes, she is plump; the one on the left (the 'runt') with streaky neck showing the central dark spot and very green back and wings came in for a few drinks within one minute while almost always keeping as low as possible, much thinner but is tenacious and doing her thing.
The temperature cooled off overnight. With the eclipse came NW winds and a much more seasonable high of 64°F today.
