HEARD and saw the first Orioles - they have come to my yard and feeders for about 4-5 years now. I think there's 2 females and 2 males.
!!!!! JUST BELOW the area where the feeders are - I've watched a female peel off the outer skin of old, dead milkweed stalks and then gather the straw like fibers in her beak and fly off to make a nest . . . I'm trying to find out where.
I added additional dried out milkweed stalks to where she she was doing this - and she started to use those. I've put out small oranges and grape jelly and sugar water.
They are super loud and usually make noise when they are at the feeder!
