A Monarch butterfly nectared on the white lilac flowers and we got a good enough look to be sure it was not a Viceroy. When it flew, it had the flight habits of a Monarch. It was gone by the time I got my camera so I have no picture. This is the earlies I have ever seen a fresh new Monarch here. The earliest I have seen them has been the first week of June.
